Bb cream – Much To Do, Not Enough Time

Hey there! Welcome back to yet another Ipsy Glam Bag post. For those of you that don’t know what’s Ipsy, it is a monthly $10 subscription of 5 samples (makeup, skin care, hair care). The samples come inside a beautiful makeup bag that varies in style and color according to the theme of the month. The samples are chosen to cater your preferences as stated in a quiz taken when you subscribe. Want to know what I got? Well, keep reading then.

The first thing was the Cryo Activating Hydra Gel from 111SKIN. This moisturizer says to protect your skin, plump it up and look “lit-from-within”. Its gel formula is quickly absorbed by the skin and left my face feeling somewhat tacky. Have used it a few times and this moisturizer didn’t impressed me. I mean, it felt good on my skin, but it wasn’t out of this world.

Next, I got a Mineral Face SPF 30 Rosilliance BB+ Cream from COOLA in the shade Golden. This product is supposed to even out the skin tone and “brighten up dark spots”. Its formula is so sheer that it didn’t cover or even out anything. Also, left my skin feeling extra sticky and looking like an oil mess at the end of the day. As for helping with dark spots, I can’t really say if it does because I haven’t noticed anything.

Another makeup product was the Glow-To Highlighter from Ciaté London in Moondust. In the pan looks pinker than in the face (looks more silvery-white). It’s blendable and very shimmery. But has a lot of fallout (it’s powdery), it always leaves shimmery particles all over my face.

The last makeup product included in this bag is a Lipgasm Lipgloss from Trust Fund Beauty in the shade Text Me. It’s a peachy shade that look really shimmery, but it doesn’t have a sticky formula. I don’t use it much because of the glitter. Also, the smell and taste aren’t great.

Finally, we have the Instant Health Hair Treatment from the brand 12 Benefits. Is a cream-like product that has a great scent. This product basically says is going to leave your hair looking A-MA-ZING. Sadly, I didn’t feel it did that for me, it was fine but nothing miraculous. The product never made it through the sprayer, I had to unscrew the cap to get it out. That could be because it is a cream product, or the packaging was defective.

Overall, this month’s bag wasn’t my favorite. Most products didn’t work for me or they weren’t impressing enough. Let’s hope September’s bag makes up for it.

Reseña Ipsy Glam Bag-Agosto 2018

¡Hola! Bienvenidos a otra entrada sobre Ipsy. Para los que no conocen sobre Ipsy, es una suscripción mensual de $10 que trae 5 muestras de productos de maquillaje, cuidado para la piel o cabello. Estas muestras vienen en una hermosa bolsa para maquillaje que varía en color y estilo de acuerdo con el tema del mes. Quieren saber qué obtuve este mes? Sigan leyendo entonces.

El primer producto fue el gel hidratante Cryo Activating Hydra Gel de la marca 111SKIN. Este gel hidratante dice proteger la piel, rellenarla y hacer que luzca iluminada desde el interior. Esta fórmula en gel fue absorbida rápidamente por la piel y la dejó algo pegajosa. Lo he utilizado varias veces y no me ha impresionado. O sea, se sintió bien en la piel, pero no fue nada fuera de este mundo.

Luego, lacrema BB Mineral Face Rosilliance con SPF 30 de la marca COOLA en el color Golden. Este producto se supone que empareje el tono de la piel y “aclare manchas oscuras”. Su fórmula es tan clara (transparente) que no cubrió ni emparejó nada en mi piel. Además, dejó mi piel extra pegajosa y luciendo demasiado brillosa al final del día. No puedo decir si aclara manchas oscuras porque no he notado nada.

Otro producto de maquillaje fue el Glow-To Highlighter de Ciaté London en el color Moondust. Se ve más rosado en el empaque que en la piel (se ve más blanco-plateado). Es fácil de difuminar y es brilloso, pero siempre deja mi cara con partículas de brillo.

Recibí el Lipgasm Lipgloss de la marca Trust Fund Beauty en el color Text Me. Es un color amelocotonado que luce brilloso pero su fórmula no es pegajosa. No lo utilizo mucho debido a la micro-escarcha. Además, que el sabor y olor que tiene no es agradable.

Por último, tengo el Instant Health Hair Treatment de la marca 12 Benefits. Es un producto tipo crema que tiene un gran aroma. Básicamente dice que dejará el cabello luciendo increíble. Lamentablemente, no sentí que hiciera eso por mí, no es un mal producto, pero no es milagroso. Para utilizarlo tuve que desenroscar la tapa porque el producto nunca salió por el rociador. Esto se puede deber a que es una crema o que el empaque estaba defectuoso.

En general, la bolsa de agosto no fue mi favorita. La mayoría de los productos no fueron impresionantes o no funcionaron para mí. Espero que la bolsa del mes de septiembre sea mejor.

Las cremas bb brindan una cobertura ligera porque su objetivo principal es igualar el tono de la piel. La crema bb que voy a revisar hoy dice que proporciona suficiente cobertura para igualar el tono de la piel, ocultar imperfecciones y mantener el brillo alejado. Es libre de aceite, adecuado para pieles sensibles, dura todo el día y no obstruye los poros. El costo se encuentra entre $7 y $8, dependiendo de dónde lo compren. Primero, consideremos que tengo la piel extremadamente grasa y vivo en Puerto Rico. Lo que significa que estoy en un clima tropical donde puede estar sin una sola nube en el cielo y 30 minutos después parece un huracán. Además, que hace calor y en la época de verano el calor se mezcla con la humedad por lo que las temperaturas se sienten sumamente altas.

Después de haber dicho esto, tenía curiosidad por ver si realmente funciona para mi piel grasa. Lo compré en el color 520 light, aunque estoy pensando que es un poco clara para mí *oops*. Tiene una cobertura ligera, pero cubre mi enrojecimiento muy bien. Además, tiene un leve aroma pero se desvanece y luego de aplicado, no noto ningún olor.

7 a.m.: Solo la crema bb ha sido aplicada.

Alrededor de 2 horas después de aplicado, la crema de bb había sido removida del área de mi nariz debido a mis anteojos (espejuelos). Lo cual es normal con cada crema bb, crema cc o base.

1:00 p.m.: Frente brillante pero no extremadamente grasosa, como estaría usualmente.

Como de 2 a 3 horas después del último check-in, mi zona/área t se encontraba extremadamente grasosa. Y a las 11 pm, la crema de bb estaba empezando a romperse en el área de mis mejillas. En general, este producto se mantuvo lo suficientemente bien (duró el clima tropical de Puerto Rico y mi cara grasosa).

Lo usé nuevamente hoy (la primera prueba de impresión fue ayer) y debo decir que estoy satisfecha con los resultados y el poder de permanencia de esta crema bb. Covergirl, estoy emocionada de ver qué más está en proceso. Mientras tanto, voy a tratar de poder agarrar esa nueva base mate (cuando llegue a Puerto Rico *suspiro*).

As you all should know, bb creams provide light coverage because it’s main purpose is to even out skin tone. The bb cream I’m going to be reviewing today, says to provide enough coverage to even skin tone, hide blemishes and keep the shine away. Is oil-free, suitable for sensitive skin, lasts all day and won’t clog pores. Retails around $7 to $8, depending where you buy it. First, let’s consider that I have extremely oily skin and I live in Puerto Rico. Which means I’m in a tropical weather where it can be without a single cloud in the sky and in the next 30 minutes it looks like a hurricane.

After all this is said, I was curious to see if it really works for my oily skin. I bought it in the shade 520 light, which I’m thinking is a little light for me *oops*. It has light coverage but covers my redness really nicely. Also, it has a faint scent but it fades when you apply it, I don’t notice any scent.

Around the 2 hours mark after I applied it, the bb cream had rubbed off my nose because of my eyeglasses. Which is normal with every bb cream, cc cream or foundation.

1pm check-in: Shiny forehead but not extremely oily as I tend to get.

Like 2 to 3 hours after the last check-in, my t-zone was extremely oily. And by 11pm, the bb cream was starting to break up in my cheek area. Overall, this product stayed on well enough (it lasted through the tropical weather of Puerto Rico and my oily face).

I used it again today (the first impression test was yesterday) and I have to say that I’m satisfied with the results and staying power of this bb cream. Covergirl, I’m excited to see what else is in the making. Meanwhile, I’m going to try to get my hands on that new matte foundation (whenever it gets to Puerto Rico *sigh*).
