7 Looks, 1 Eyeshadow Palette-Pérsona Identity Palette

Hi guys! Welcome to another post on the serie “7 Looks, 1 Eyeshadow Palette”, where I show you 7 different eye looks using only one palette. For this one, I’m showing you what a came up for the Identity palette from the brand Pérsona. This palette retails for $32 and includes 12 shades (6 mattes and 6 shimmers). It’s quite neutral and that makes it perfect for an everyday use (if you like neutral looks, of course). The formula of the shadows is amazing, real pigmented with butter-like softness. Now let’s get started with the makeup!

Ipsy Glam Bag-December 2018

Hi guys! Welcome to a new Ipsy Glam Bag review (better late than never). For those of you who don’t know what Ipsy is. It’s a $10 monthly subscription with 5 sample products (makeup, hair & skin care) inside a cute makeup bag. December’s bag arrived a bit later than usual. The bag is black leather with gold sequin fabric and a black leather tassel. Also, this bag came with 6 products instead of 5! Well, let’s get started!

Using the Sugar brow pencil, Nomad highlighter, and the Ciaté lip product.

The first product is the Ultra Violet Brightening Purple Clay Mask from Generation Clay. Love the purple color, not so much the scent. Bit I’ve used it and it left my face feeling soft and a bit tight. It’s nice and I’ll continue to use it.

Next we have a Scalp & Body Scrub from OUAI Haircare. It has a clean scent and the sugar crystals feel amazing on the skin. It’s not a harsh scrub, so my skin felt really soft after using it.

Also got a F. A. R. A. H tapered blending brush 35E. It’s super fluffy, soft and lightweight. I have 3 uses for it: setting my eye primer, applying my transition/crease color, and overall blending.

Now let’s get into the makeup products. I have the Sugar Arch Arrival Brow Definer in 02 Taupe Tom. The tip is in a triangle shape, the formula is a bit waxy and hard. It doesn’t glide on super easy, you have to work a little to get it on the skin. The spoolie works great, helps to blend the brow product.

Next I have a Nomad Cosmetics Around-the-World Light Infusion Powder in Ko Phai Ngan Moonlight. Which is a beautiful “holographic illuminator in duo-chrome glow with multi-dimensional, prismatic sapphire pearl finish.” It has a nice purple-blue sheen, soft formula and it blends like a dream.

The last product is a Transforming Glitter Liquid Lipstick from Ciaté London in the shade Infamous. It’s a fun concept but for everyday use, is not my cup of tea. Love the color, the glitter throws me off but I think I can make it work somehow (will let you know if any progress occurs).

Overall, it was a great bag and I liked basically everything. I’m currently waiting for January’s bag (think it’s getting here today or tomorrow).

Anyway, how were your bags in December and January? I love reading your comments, so let’s talk in the comment section.

2018 Favorites-Makeup & Non-Makeup

Hi guys!  Welcome to the last blog post of the year (“Whaaat?”-minion voice).  It’s been a great year: I started this blog, obtained my Masters degree, and got a job at a retail store.  I don’t do New Year’s resolutions but feel free to share yours in the comment section. Now let’s talk about makeup and non-makeup favorites.

First, I discovered a face moisturizer that hydrates my skin without making me look like a grease ball and that will be Hydra Genius Daily Moisturizer for oily skin from L’oreal.  For taking my makeup off, I use a Micellar Foaming Cleanser for combination to oily skin, from Garnier Skin Active.  It takes all my makeup off, including waterproof mascara, without leaving my face feeling super dry.  As for my hair, I’ve been loving Herbal Essences Curl Defining mousse (strong hold) and discovered the amazingness of Aussie Kids Detangler in Bloomin’ Apple.  Smells good and incredibly helps with my knotty-curly hair.  Lastly for non-makeup products, I absolutely love ULTA Beauty’s Shadow Switching Pan for using the same eyeshadow brush repeatedly with different colors.

Now, I have a lot of favorites products in the makeup section (majority are drugstore/affordable).  Many of them, I’ve talked before so I’ll link the blog post.  For base products, the most I’ve been using are L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte foundation in 104 Golden Beige (blog post), Covergirl Clean Matte bb cream in 520 Light (blog post), Colourpop’s No Filter Concealer in Light 16, Colourpop’s No Filter sheer pressed powder in Light (blog post), and Maybelline Master Fix loose powder in Translucent.  For bronzer I have two: Bettina Sun Splash Bronzing Powder in Light to Medium, and Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Deep Bronzer (blog post).  For blush I have: Maybelline Fit Me in 10 Buff, Lottie London Blush Crush in zac, and Morphe Blush in Spirit.  These two last blushes I got in my Ipsy bag.  Last face product is highlighter, Smashbox X Casey Holmes Spotlight Palette in Gold and Pearl, Wet ‘n Wild Megaglo Highlighting Powder in 319B Blossom Glow (blog post), and Sleek Makeup Highlighting Palette in 032 Solstice (blog post).

For the eyebrows I used mostly the NYC Browser Bush-On Brow Kit in 876 Brunette but because of some Ipsy bags, I found two brow pencils that I like.  The Arch Arrival Brow Definer in 02 Taupe Tom from Sugar, and Skone Brow Wand in Chocolate.  I also have two eyeshadow palettes that I’ve been using like crazy: Pérsona Identity palette and Maybelline Soda Pop palette (blog post).  Love the ULTA Beauty Gel Eye Liners in general, but I have four colors: Black Out, Black Brown, Olive, and Bronze.  The two mascaras I’ve been using throughout the year are L’oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Waterproof in Blackest Black, and Covergirl Flourish by Lash Blast in Very Black (blog post).  The last products are for the lips: Maybelline Color Sensational lipsticks, Colourpop Lux Lipsticks, and L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Lipgloss.

These are all my favorite products for this year 2018. What products were your favorites through the year? Let’s talk in the comment section.

What I Got For Christmas 2018

Hi guys! Hope you had a great Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. Today I want to share with you what I got for Christmas. Also, what did you get for Christmas? Let me know in the comment section.

  • The first thing was a pair of Pandora silver heart shaped earrings. They’re beautiful, dainty and I haven’t stopped wearing them.
  • Next, we have the NYX Love You So Mochi electric pastels eyeshadow palette. Haven’t tried it yet but judging from swatches it looks really pigmented. They’re all shimmery shadows so I’ll need to pair it with another palette.
  • The last Christmas gift is a pair of Skechers Air Flex-Free Spirits in purple. Absolutely in love with these shoes, they’re so lightweight and comfy.
  • Last but not least, I got an early birthday gift. It’s a beauty led light from ZOMEi which is great for putting my makeup early in the morning and for taking photos when there’s no natural light.

Hi guys!  How are you doing?  Welcome to another post about 7 eye looks I created using only one eyeshadow palette.  This time I used the Dream St. palette by Colourpop X Kathleen Lights.  This palette was Kathleen’s first collaboration with Colourpop.  It released last year (December 2017), retails for $16 and has 12 eyeshadow colors.

The shadows are buttery-soft and with great pigmentation.  There is some kickback but I’m not bothered since they blend like a dream (no pun intended).  There are many looks that can be made with these beautiful shades.

Here are the eye looks I created

Shooting Star (#1, first row), Potion (#3, second row), Elfish (#2, third row), Sweet Dreams (#1, second row), Kaleidoscope (#1, third row), Moony (#3, third row).

Sleek Makeup “Bring On The Night” Holiday Set-Review

Hi guys!  Welcome back.  Today I have yet another review, but this time is for a holiday set.  I’ve seen Sleek Makeup products online but never imagined I would see it in my local Walgreens.  Yes, you read that right…At Walgreens!  You can imagine the dumb face I had when I saw various holiday sets at affordable prices from this brand.  Because I’m not a millionaire (sadly), I grabbed one that would give me a general idea of the brands’ performance.  For $25 I got the holiday set “Bring On The Night” which includes an eyeshadow palette, a blush trio and a highlighter palette.

Here are two looks I created using Sleek Makeup’s gift set. For more looks, go to my Instagram

Let’s start with the eyeshadow palette, as it was my least favorite.  I’m not saying it was bad, just a little hard to work with.  It’s a dry formula (not smooth/creamy), so I encounter some issues when trying to blend the shadows.  The color selection is full of cool tones/smokey shades with little matte (transition) colors.  Even the darker shades had some type of shimmer in them.  As for pigmentation, it was average because there’s a lot of building the colors and the shimmery shades needed to be applied with the fingers for a better color payoff.

Now, the blush trio is another story.  Colors are intense, soft, blendable and very pigmented (a little goes a long way).  The shades are not my typical choice, but I enjoy using them from time to time.

Finally, the highlight palette included 3 powders and 1 creamy formula.  The powders give an intense, kind of icy glow to the skin and tend to emphasize large pores/texture.  But the cream one gives you a less intense but more natural glow.

Overall, I think the holiday set is worth it.  Sure, the eyeshadow palette is a little hard to work with, but I love the smokiness.  Also, it got me interested in trying more products from Sleek Makeup.

What holiday set have you tried?

    Maybelline Soda Pop-Review

Hello guys! Welcome back to the blog.  Today we’re going to talk about Maybelline’s Soda Pop eyeshadow palette.  It
retails for $13.99 and it contains 12 fall-ish colors (warm shades).

As I’ve  said before, I’m more of a cool-smokey shades but I’ve been really enjoying the warm shades.  This Maybelline palette has an amazing shade range and the quality is great.  The shadows are soft & buttery with an incredible pigmentation and staying power.

Since I bought it, I’ve been using it like crazy.  It has become my go-to when I don’t want to think much about my eye look.  I just pick up this palette and go with the flow.  If you haven’t tried Maybelline’s Soda Pop palette, I highly recommend you go and buy it because is amazing and you’ll fall in love with it.

What has been your go-to product?

    Wishlist (Christmas/Birthday Edition)

Hello guys and welcome back!  The holiday season is right around the corner, which means is time to get our wishlist ready.  Mine covers for Christmas Day, my birthday (is on January), and also Three Kings Day (celebrated in many places, including Puerto Rico).  Now, let me share with you what is on my list.

Let’s start with the makeup part of this list.

    Eyeshadow palettes

    • Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam-Retails for $42 and it’s a beautiful neutral palette, perfect for everyday use.  In my opinion, one can never have enough neutral.  (Don’t you think?)
    • Urban Decay Born To Run-Retails for $49 and it seems like a very versatile combination of shades.
    • Colourpop X Bretman Rock Wet palette-Retails for $12.  I have a few blue shades in my collection but I would love to expand on that shade range.
    • Alamar Cosmetics Reina del Mar Vol. I-Retails for $28, love the vibrancy of the colors and the amazing pigmentation.  Also love to support fellow latinas.
    • Natasha Denona Mini Star-Retails for $25, although I’m not really sure about this one.  I would love to try Natasha Denona’s shadows but I can’t wrap my head aroung the amount of money the big palettes cost.  Maybe I could justify the purchase of a mini palette.
    • Elf Cosmetics Opposites Attract-Retails for $14, love the variety of shades.  It’s been a while since I’ve tried Elf eyeshadows.

    More makeup products

    • It Cosmetics Superhero mascara-Retails for $24, I’ve been wanting to try this mascara because of all the good reviews.
    • Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow-Retails for $24 each.  I’m especially interested in two shades: Kitten Karma and Molten Midnight.
    • Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Lip Luminizer in Fenty Glow-Retails for $18, swatched it in-store and fell in love with it.

    Non-makeup products

    • UV light and gel nail polishes-Hate going to the salon, but love a good shellac manicure. (I’m full of contradictions)
    • Kit for making resin jewelry.
    • Beads and string-Always in need of more, visit my Instagram page to see the beauties available.

Well, that’s all on my list at this moment.  I definitely need to narrow it down but meanwhile, tell me what’s on your list.

    Drugstore Makeup Review

Hello!  Like a month ago, I bought a few makeup products at my local Walgreens (that’s what I go the most).  And after trying them for so long, I feel I can tell you what I think of them.

The first product is from the limited edition Wet ‘n Wild Fire & Ice collection.  I just bought a fire bronzer (since I didn’t find anything else) in the shade 36369 Bronze Dynasty.  It’s a light bronzer with little specks of glitter.  Despite the glitter, I actually like this bronzer because it looks pretty. It’s affordable and it’s a build-up situation for intense bronzing action.

The next product is Wet ‘n Wild Megaglo highlighter powder in 319B Blossom Glow.  Which you already know I love it so I’m just going to link the post where I talked about it (click here!).

I also bought, from Wet ‘n Wild, a contouring palette for $4.99 in 749A Dulce De Leche.  I like this product but I’m not crazy about it.  It has great pigmentation but I’m not really into contouring, so I’ll have to keep trying it out.

Next is a concealer, no it’s not Colourpop…”Whaaaat?” (minion voice).  It’s the Clean Matte oil-free concealer (previously called Ready Set Gorgeous) from Covergirl in the shade 205-210 Light/Medium and retails for around $6.  I think it’s a bit light for me but it’s been working okay.  It’s certainly not replacing my Colourpop No Filter concealer but it’s a nice product.

Last but not least, I bought the Magnif’eyes eyeshadow palette from Rimmel in 004 Colour Edition.  Retails for $8.99, has 12 shades and it comes in 8 editions.  The pigmentation is nice, has a bit of kickback but it blends nicely.

There were hits and misses.  But in general, I liked most of the products.

Tell me about your hits and misses in the comment section.  Talk later!
